Short links

Create short links using the bki.sh domain. Track clicks and share clean URLs.

What are short links?

Short links are compact URLs that redirect to your content:

• Short: bki.sh/abc123
• Redirects to: https://your-long-url.com/path/to/content

Use them in social posts, emails, and anywhere character count matters.

Creating a short link

From the header Create menu

1. Open the Create menu in the workspace header
2. Select Short links
3. Enter:
   • Destination URL: Where the link should go
   • Custom slug (optional): Custom ending (e.g., bki.sh/my-link)
4. Click Create

From the sidebar

1. Go to Publish → Short links in the sidebar
2. Click Create short link
3. Enter:
   • Destination URL: Where the link should go
   • Custom slug (optional): Custom ending (e.g., bki.sh/my-link)
4. Click Create

Links use the bki.sh domain:

Tracking clicks

Click data in the list

The short links list includes a Clicks column showing total clicks for each link at a glance. You can also filter by creation date to narrow down your view.

Detailed analytics

Open a short link to see more detail:

• Total clicks
• Click chart over time
• Chart tooltips showing specific dates and click counts

The analytics help you understand how links perform and when they get traffic.

Dashboard analytics

Short link click data also appears in dashboard analytics, including:

• Top-link click breakdown
• Tooltips with dates and click counts

Redirect limits

Monthly redirect limits vary by plan:

Redirects reset monthly. Links continue working but stop tracking after the limit.

Managing short links

Edit a short link

1. Find the link in the list
2. Click to open
3. Update the destination URL
4. Save

The short link stays the same; only the destination changes.

Delete a short link

1. Open the short link
2. Click Delete
3. Confirm

Warning: Deleted links return a 404. Any shared links will break.

Custom slugs

Custom slugs make links memorable:

• bki.sh/start instead of bki.sh/x7p9q

Custom slug rules:

• Lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens
• No spaces or special characters
• Must be unique in your workspace

Best practices

Use custom slugs for important links: Makes them shareable and memorable.

Track campaign links: Create separate links for different campaigns.

Monitor usage: Watch for links approaching limits.

Don't delete active links: Check click stats before removing.
