How to interview with Boki for an expert insight

Run an expert interview by voice instead of typing. Boki captures the conversation with live captions, a timer, and guided prompts, then gives you a transcript, an export, and a summary of the key points when you finish.

Overview

When collecting expert insights, you have two options:

1. Enter info manually — Type the insight content directly
2. Have a voice interview with Boki — Let Boki interview you with guided questions and live captions

For content marketers gathering source material, this turns a back-and-forth email chain into a single recorded conversation you can quote from directly.

When to use voice interviews

Use Boki voice interviews when:

• The expert isn't sure how to structure their knowledge
• You want to capture conversational nuance
• Speaking is easier than writing for the interviewee
• You need to explore a topic through guided questions

Interview duration

Choose the expected interview length before starting:

Each option shows the estimated credit cost before you start. There is no hard time limit — you can continue past the selected duration if the conversation warrants it.

Interview in manual collection

When creating an insight manually:

1. Go to Research → Insights
2. Click Add insight
3. Choose Have a conversation with Boki instead of entering info manually
4. The voice interview starts with live captions
5. Boki asks questions based on the interview context you provide
6. Answer each question — Boki guides the conversation with follow-up questions
7. When finished, you receive:
   • Full transcript
   • Export option
   • Key-points summary

Interview via email collection

When an expert receives an email request for insights:

1. They open the public insight collection page from the email link
2. They can choose to type their response OR start a voice interview
3. The voice interview runs with live captions, timer, and guided prompts
4. When finished, the transcript and key-points summary are stored as the insight

Answers are labelled as voice or text so you know how they were collected.

Voice-only requests

When you send an insight request without adding questions, the expert can only respond via voice interview — there's no text input option. Add questions if you want to give the expert the choice to answer by text.

Credits and billing

Interview time is charged from your credits. Before starting, Boki checks your available credits and warns you if they are insufficient for the expected interview duration. Check your available credits in the bottom left of the dashboard before starting a long interview.

Boki uses context you provide to guide the interview:

How it works

1. Boki generates questions based on the topic and context
2. The interviewee speaks; live captions show the transcription
3. Boki asks follow-up questions to clarify or expand
4. When finished, Boki generates a key-points summary
5. The full Q&A transcript becomes the insight content
6. You can edit the resulting insight like any other

Result

After the interview:

• The Q&A is stored as text in the insight
• The key-points summary highlights the main takeaways
• You can export the transcript
• You can edit, tag, and attribute the insight normally
• The insight appears in your insights library with a "voice" label
